AFTER A CHALLENGING 2020 AND 2021 WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO WELCOMING GUESTS BACK TO SUMMERFIELD CAMPSITE FOR A FULL SEASON IN 2022.
Summerfield Farm is a small family run unit situated at the western edge of the village of Tilbrook which is 2 miles west of Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. Owners Carl and Fiona with their two sons Alastair and Connor have improved and developed the farm over the past 23 years. Over 25 years ago, the farm was much larger and a mixed arable and livestock unit with pigs and cattle but it is now just permanent grassland.
The campsite opened in in 2014 and is essentially a family orientated campsite and is enjoyed by all types of camping guests that appreciate the simple pleasures of the open countryside.
The main block of flat grassland to the rear of the farm is now designated as Summerfield Campsite – a campers haven accessed by a wide easily accessible farm track from the main B645 road through the village.
We are delighted to welcome both our regular and repeat visitors and also our new campers and would, again, like to reiterate our appreciation and say a big THANK YOU to all our visitors that have supported us since we started some 9 years ago. and we very much hope to welcome you again in this pandemic era of the ‘new normal’.
There is ample space on this site for 40 pitches to include tents and motorhomes and up to 5 touring caravans at any one time. When the site is not too busy, visitors are largely free to ‘pitch where they wish’. At busier times we will have to implement a more structured plan with demarcated pitches as we also have to consider group sizes and the location of electric hook up points that may be required. The site is open (weather and ground conditions permitting) from the beginning of March to the end of October each year.
Surrounded by trees and hedges, campers can enjoy this bespoke site in the open countryside and can take advantage of the local footpath network to further appreciate the wider views of the surrounding countryside. Tilbrook is in a valley and the land rises both to the North and South of the village. We are fortunate in that our location has the advantage of being in an area of undulating countryside. Indeed, the ‘County Top’ of Huntingdonshire is just one village away to the north and boasts a height of 260 feet above sea level. (In Cambridgeshire, that is high! So much so that there is a Cambridge Mountain Rescue team that claims to be on call ’24/7-except when they are asleep!’).
For those guests that prefer not to be under canvas, our three onsite, fully equipped apartments, can offer a touch of luxury – check out the apartments page.
