ONCE AGAIN WE CAN NOW LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU BACK TO SUMMERFIELD CAMPSITE.
FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT TIMELINE WE SHALL BE OPENING FROM 23RD MAY 2021
However, it must be recognised by all those guests making a booking that, until 21st June at the earliest, this will not be a ‘business as usual’ campsite. Our terms and conditions, working practices and campsite rules will be subject to change, modification and amendment in the light of experience and Government guidelines and instruction.
STATEMENT OF RISK
We will do all that we can to ensure that the site is kept as ‘Covid Secure’ as possible. Guidance in achieving this aim can be confusing and is largely based upon individual risk assessment by the site operator. However, the risk is real. It is vitally important that all guests recognise and accept this. Accordingly, responsibility rests with each individual to mitigate the risks as far as they are able by equipping themselves with, and using, appropriate cleaning and disinfecting materials to supplement the measures and additional cleaning operations that we will be carrying out. Although the infection risk should be lower as a result of the lockdown rules and the vaccination programme, the risk is still real and all visitors must not, under any circumstances visit the site if they, or a member of their party, have tested positive for Covid-19 or are experiencing the symptoms of the infection or have recently been in contact with anyone else that has tested positive or are experiencing symptoms of the virus.
Summerfield Farm is a small family run unit situated at the western edge of the village of Tilbrook near Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. Owners Carl and Fiona with their two sons Alastair and Connor have improved and developed the farm over the past 20 years, which up until recently was a mixture of grassland and arable crops but is now wholly grassland.
The main block of flat grassland to the rear of the farm is now designated as Summerfield Campsite - a campers haven accessed by a wide easily accessible farm track from the main B645 road through the village. The campsite first opened in 2014 and can now be considered as 'established'. This is primarily due to both our new and regular campers. Once again we would like to say a big THANK YOU to our visitors over the last seven seasons and we very much hope to welcome you again - even in these difficult times. We are delighted that we continue to experience a large number of repeat visits.
There is ample space on this site for tents and motorhomes. Out of 'social distancing necessity' we have now marked fixed pitch sites but when we are not busy, visitors are largely free to choose their site where they wish. At busier times we will have to implement a more structured plan as we have to consider group sizes and the location of electric hook up points required.
Surrounded by trees and hedges, campers can enjoy this bespoke site in the open countryside and can take advantage of the local footpath network to further appreciate the wider views of the surrounding countryside. We are fortunate in that our location has the advantage of being in an area of undulating countryside. Indeed, the 'County Top' of Huntingdonshire is just one village away to the north and boasts a height of 260 feet above sea level. (In Cambridgeshire, that is high! So much so that there is a Cambridge Mountain Rescue team that claims to be on call '24/7-except when they are asleep!). Tilbrook is in a valley and the land rises both to the North and South of the village
We are also proud to report that, after entering the National 'LOO of the YEAR' Awards we were awarded a GOLD grading in 2019 for the quality of our loos in the camping and touring site category. Our loos are now officially one of the best 'away from home' toilets in the UK and we aim to keep them that way.
For those guests that prefer not to be under canvas, our three onsite, fully equipped apartments, can offer a touch of luxury - check out 'apartments' section on the menu bar.
